It’s recommended that potential patients contact their PPO insurance plan directly for reimbursement rates. (see FAQ below)

When you pay out of pocket you are considered self-pay (likely an HMO plan). You will receive an automatic 30% discount (HMO plans do not give insurance reimbursement).

Meet Dr. Lee
Hello, I’m Dr. EunJoo Lee. I am board-certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in child/adolescent psychiatry and in general (adult) psychiatry. I trained for my general psychiatry residency at the University of Southern California + Los Angeles County Hospital and completed my child/adolescent fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.
I specialize in medication management for a wide range of psychiatric conditions. I take a collaborative, compassionate approach to care, blending evidence-based treatment with a deep respect for each person’s unique story. I prescribe medications conservatively and work to optimize non-medication options first, especially for the most vulnerable young patients. I work closely with individuals and families to help them feel more understood, empowered, and hopeful.
I have a special interest in the medication treatment of children, adolescents and young adults with developmental disorders and neuropsychiatric conditions. I enjoy collaborating with therapists, psychologists and pediatricians to help improve patient’s lives. I understand it can be especially daunting to patients and families alike when they are faced with unique challenges that may involve seeing multiple medical specialists.
Outside of work, I’m a big believer in balance — you’ll often find me checking out the new coffee shop in town, obsessing over my daughters or trying out a new food recipe at home.
FAQs
-
No. Many with PPO type insurance plans may have eligible “out-of-network” benefits, which means you are able to be seen by Dr. Lee. You can take a superbill to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement. Check directly with your insurance plan for details.
-
It is a “receipt of service” that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
-
Contact your insurance directly, often you can find the information on your patient portal. 1) Do I have “out-of-network” benefits for mental health? 2) What is my deductible? 3) What is the “allowed amount” for xxx CPT code? Some insurances have a section you can plug in a CPT code to check on the reimbursement rate.
-
Yes, definitely. Give us a call and we can assist with giving you basic information on how to check your rate with your insurance plan.
-
The rates for billing (also known as current procedural terminology [CPT]) codes are specified to the services provided in session. CPT codes are based on the duration, complexity or difficulty of the service based on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
-
CPT billing rates can change depending on the evaluation type or complexity of the visit. For example, the first session has a different billing code than subsequent visits. Also for example, assessing the need for inpatient hospitalization and assessing for safety if there is imminent risk for suicidality and self-harm are considered higher medical complexity.
-
A thorough evaluation for a pediatric patient requires separate assessment sessions for the child/teen and the parent/guardian, which can take more time. We recommend that both patient and parent are present at each session unless otherwise discussed with Dr. Lee.
-
Yes, if you would like to submit the superbill for reimbursement.
-
No. But I can speak basic conversational Korean.
